Welcome Trinity Swim & Waterpolo Club

Join Our Team: Founded in 1897, Dublin University Swimming Club (DUSC) is one of the oldest and largest sports clubs at Trinity College Dublin. We are the largest combined swimming and water polo club in Ireland, offering a rich tradition and a vibrant community for water sports enthusiasts.

Participation and Training: All our training sessions are coached and held in our state-of-the-art swimming pool on campus. We train a total of six times a week, evenly split between swimming and waterpolo, fostering great commitment to training and team spirit. We have designated lanes for swimming and focus on each waterpolo player’s needs, ensuring that swimmers and water polo players of all levels can participate and improve their skills.

Competitive Play: DUSC is fully affiliated with Swim Ireland, Ireland Water Polo, and the Irish Universities Swimming and Water Polo Association. Our club has won multiple intervarsity competitions in water polo for both men and women. We compete at the national and Leinster levels, with our ladies' team in Division 1 and our men's team in Division 2. Our swimmers have also achieved significant success, often reaching the finals in various swimming intervarsities. We both hold and compete in various swimming galas and waterpolo friendlies to ensure that each member of our club has a level to play at.

Social Responsibility: Beyond sports, DUSC is committed to giving back to the community. Over the years, we have raised funds for multiple charities. In 2020, we made donations to FOCUS Ireland, demonstrating our dedication to social responsibility alongside our athletic endeavors.

Inclusive Environment: We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club, welcoming members of all abilities and backgrounds. Our supportive and friendly atmosphere ensures that everyone feels valued and can thrive in their swimming or water polo journey. If there are any issues, we have a dedicated inclusivity officer that will facilitate and aid those in need.

Social Events and Activities: Beyond the pool, we regularly organize social events to build strong community bonds and celebrate our achievements, we aim to hold a larger event every two weeks and hold an evening out once a week after training aiming to build up positive relationships between every member. These gatherings are perfect opportunities to connect with fellow swimmers and water polo players, make new friends, and enrich your university experience.

Registration and Fees: An annual membership fee is required to join. This fee supports the club's operations, including training, equipment, and participation in various events. Erasmus exchange students should check at the sports centre reception for any additional fees related to facility use. For competing, a further fee is required by Swim Ireland, this is paid yearly and allows access into any swim galas or waterpolo competitions.
