Welcome to Dublin University Sailing Club

Join Our Team: Dublin University Sailing Club, commonly known as Trinity Sailing, is the largest student sailing club in Ireland with over 200 active members, 75 of whom compete regularly. Our club proudly caters to all levels of sailors, from beginners to those competing on the world stage.

Participation and Training: Our primary focus is on team racing in our club Fireflies. This involves two teams of three boats, each with two sailors, engaging in an exciting battle to outmaneuver the other team through collective eHort and strategic scoring. Our comprehensive training sessions ensure that all members, regardless of skill level, have the opportunity to improve and enjoy sailing. We also have a number of members involved in keelboat racing, in J/80s and match racing in Elliott 6ms.

Competitive Play: Since its inception, Trinity Sailing has been at the forefront of student sailing in Ireland, winning numerous Varsities and Regional titles at Gold, Silver, and Bronze fleet levels. Most recently, our first team won Gold fleet at the University Team Racing Southerns in Dingle in February 2024. We also had impressive performances at intervarsities, with teams finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, as well as a 2nd place finish at the Student Yachting Nationals in Howth. Our club boasts an impressive history, with 16 Irish Olympians among our alumni. Additionally, DUSC is the only sports club to have won the British University Sailing Association (BUSA) championship three consecutive times, showcasing our competitive edge and excellence in the sport.

Inclusive Environment: We are committed to inclusivity, welcoming sailors of all abilities and backgrounds. Our supportive and dynamic environment ensures that every member can thrive, learn, and enjoy the sport of sailing. In particular, we are focusing on increasing female participation in college sailing and the wider sport, especially encouraging women to helm. This led in 2024 to two teams competing at the Irish Team Racing’s Women at the Helm event in Malahide.

Social Events and Activities: Beyond the water, we organize various social events to build strong community bonds and celebrate our achievements. These events are fantastic opportunities to connect with fellow sailors, make new friends, and enhance your university experience.

Registration and Fees: An annual membership fee is required to join. This fee supports the club's operations, including training, equipment, and participation in various events. Erasmus exchange students should check at the sports centre reception for any additional fees related to facility use.
