Welcome to Dublin University Boat Club

Join Our Team: Dublin University Boat Club (DUBC) has a storied history, originating from the amalgamation of DU Boat Club and DU Rowing Club in 1898. With a legacy of championship wins, Henley victories, World Champions, and Olympians, DUBC offers a prestigious rowing experience. Joining DUBC means engaging in intensive sculling training in our extensive fleet of small boats and participating in sweep rowing, typical of university clubs.

Participation and Training: Senior DUBC rowers have the opportunity to compete against UCD in the prestigious annual Gannon Cup Colours race and represent the university in national and international competitions, including London Head of the RIver Race, Metropolitan Regatta and the world-renowned Henley Royal Regatta. Our athletes are encouraged to attend Irish National Squad trials, with support provided for those aiming to compete at an international level.

Rowing is a sport unique in its ability to develop senior and successful athletes from complete beginners across the course of a few years. At DUBC there is a dedicated training squad for complete beginners of the sport, with the opportunity to compete at international regattas within your first season.
