Our Department

The Department of Sociology comprises 14 full-time staff members, as well as temporary appointments. Our core research and teaching areas include:

  • Migration, integration, and identities
  • Employment, education, and stratification
  • Power, conflict, and resistance
  • Digitalisation and social networks

The Department also collaborates with Trinity Research in Social Sciences (TRiSS) and the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

Module Selection

Visiting students can take modules offered in the second, third, and fourth years. Please consult the module timetable for times and locations (note that timetables are subject to change during the first weeks of the academic year). For further details, view the module outlines.

Eligibility and Applications

Visiting students must be registered at a university and have completed at least two years of study. For US students, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 is required.
