We’re delighted to welcome Erasmus students to the Department of Sociology at Trinity College Dublin. This page provides key information to help you prepare for your time with us and make the most of this exciting opportunity.
Learning Programme and Module Enrolment
Upon arrival, incoming Erasmus students will discuss their learning programme and receive advice on appropriate module enrolment levels. Fourth-year modules are available only with prior consultation. Students attending for a full year are expected to complete both halves of any second- or third-year module.
Module Requirements and Examinations
Erasmus students are required to meet the same module requirements as Trinity students, including participation in annual examinations for all registered modules. Students must remain in residence until the annual examination period concludes.
Application Process
Erasmus students must first be nominated by their home university and complete an application form. The further admission process is detailed on the International Admissions and Study Abroad website, including the mailing address for submitting completed applications.
Language Proficiency
While studying abroad provides an opportunity to improve linguistic skills, all Erasmus students must be fully proficient in English. Students without adequate language skills may struggle with examinations and risk failing modules.
