Dr Conor Pyle
Dr Conor Pyle is a Teaching Fellow in the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. As well as teaching Academic English at CELLT and coordinating several UG Linguistics modules, he has taught Second Language Acquisition, Lexicology, Syntax and Semantics to undergraduate and Masters linguistics students. His PhD was a typological study of the Western Desert language, funded by a university scholarship. He followed this with a postdoc in the area of English to Sign Language machine translation at Technological University Dublin, part of the EU funded SignOn project. He holds a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) from Cambridge English and has taught English in private language schools as well as in the corporate and academic sectors.
