Sam Coffey - Pre-Sessional English Language Programme Instructor
Sam has an MA (Honours) in TESOL from the University of Limerick, holds the DELTA Cambridge qualification and most recently became an Associate Fellow of BALEAP. She has taught ESOL for over 20 years with a wide-ranging expertise that includes English for Academic Purposes to Undergraduate and Postgraduate learners in both UK and Irish universities, in-company Business English Teaching, and Examination preparation courses. Sam is currently an International and ESOL Oral Examiner for Trinity College London.
Sam has held academic management positions in the private and in tertiary ELT sector and is a qualified Cambridge CELTA trainer working with pre-service English language teachers. Most recently Sam has been mentoring and training secondary and tertiary level teachers on International Educational Reform Projects in countries including Türkiye, Rwanda, Mexico and China.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys travelling, gardening, practising Pilates and is an avid reader of historical and crime novels.
