Fiona Connolly
Fiona is an ELT consultant and teacher trainer based in Galway. For several years, she has been involved in the design and delivery of professional development initiatives for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level teachers on a number of International Educational Reform Projects. She is also an experienced Cambridge CELTA trainer, working with pre-service English Language teachers in a variety of contexts.
Fiona has taught ESOL for over 30 years with a wide-ranging expertise that includes English for Academic Purposes to Undergraduate and Postgraduate learners in a UK/Irish university context, in-company Business English Teaching and Soft Skills training, Cambridge and IELTS Examination preparation and the teaching of Younger Learners. Fiona is currently an International Oral Examiner for Trinity College London.
Fiona has held Academic Management positions in the private ELT sector and is skilled in areas such as recruitment, mentoring and monitoring of teaching staff, syllabus design, test writing, and the development of in-house teaching and training materials. She also has experience of working with publishers as a writer and author trainer on projects run in conjunction with Ministries of Education.
