CDS Hybrid lecture series
To bridge the gap between research and practice the Centre of Deaf Studies launched a hybrid lecture series on topics related to Sign Language Studies.
The first lecture on March 4th was given by visiting researcher Anja Saft (Germany) on the topic of the academic potential of sign language interpreters as researchers. You can find the recording and materials of that lecture here: https://strategicinterpreting.blog/2024/03/07/visiting-researcher-lecture-anja-saft/
For the second lecture on April 4th, we welcomed Caroline O’Leary and Ciara Grant who presented on the development of a new Irish Sign Language glossary of parliamentary terminology. A project CDS was hugely involved in. Recordings of the lecture, and the link to the results of the project can be found here: https://strategicinterpreting.blog/2024/04/05/centre-for-deaf-studies-lecture-a-new-isl-glossary-of-parliamentary-terminology/
The next CDS lecture is planned for April 24th. Anyone is welcome to join us online or in person. Follow @studies_centre to stay informed.
