Election to Fellowship 2024-25

Trinity College Dublin was founded as a corporation consisting of the Provost, the Fellows, and the Scholars. Scholars are elected annually in various subjects on the result of an examination held in Hilary term.

Scholarship or research achievement of a high order is the primary qualification for Fellowship, coupled with evidence of the candidate’s contribution to the academic life of the College, as shown in particular by participation in the work of their Discipline or School, and an effective record in teaching.

Achievement in scholarship and research will be assessed primarily through publication record. Work expressed in a form other than publication will be taken into account, provided that it may be subjected to scholarly analysis and independent assessment. A candidate's contribution to the development of their subject nationally and internationally will, where appropriate, also be taken into account.

During Michaelmas term 2024, the Central Fellowship Committee will begin to prepare recommendations for nomination to Fellowship in 2025.

Fellowship is open to Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors who have been members of staff for more than three years (see nomination form linked below for eligibility criteria).

Candidates must be proposed by a Fellow of the College.

The Fellowship Process for 2024-25 is now OPEN. Nomination form (to be completed online) can be accessed here:
