Marcus Matthews Bio

Marcus works in commercial development, where he finds growth opportunities for companies and supports their expansion into new markets.

His career has encompassed insurance, compliance, and public affairs; and he holds professional certifications in governance, data protection, and project management.

Separately, Marcus has studied in Dublin and Brussels, and achieved several qualifications:

  • Finance and Investment (Diploma)
  • Politics and Philosophy (Bachelor's)
  • Security and Conflict Resolution (Master’s)
  • Corporate Management (Postgraduate Diploma)

As part of his advocacy work, Marcus challenged the waste of Ireland’s largest public contract, the €3bn National Broadband Plan, for which he wrote the €400mn alternative and represented Irish telecoms companies before the Oireachtas.

If elected, Marcus will honour and build upon the inspirational legacy of David Norris, and lift the mantle of responsibility across the many challenges facing Ireland by pursuing an evidence-based approach to legislation, which is grounded in long-term thinking and economic principles.

You can read Marcus’ multi-issue platform & policy priorities on his website, for which all questions are welcome.
