Lynn Ruane Bio

Lynn Ruane is an independent Senator, who has served on the University of Dublin panel in Seanad Éireann since 2016. Lynn is from Tallaght - an historically marginalised community in Dublin. A long-time community and drugs worker, Lynn now champions the causes closest to her heart in the Oireachtas.

An ardent legislator, Lynn tables bills that respond to the lived experiences of those on the margins. Lynn has introduced 7 bills since 2016, co-sponsoring a further 29, and has tabled more than 2,800 legislative amendments since 2020.

Lynn works in a constructive manner, engaging with all parties and none to affect progressive change. This term, this approach yielded a substantive change in Irish employment law, which bans the misuse of non-disclosure agreements in cases of abuse, harassment, and discrimination.

Lynn seeks re-election to the Seanad, to continue her work in promoting equality, human rights, social justice, inclusion, and empowerment.
