Aubrey McCarthy Bio
Aubrey McCarthy has dedicated his life to turning adversity into opportunity for individuals and communities across Ireland. Growing up in an environment impacted by addiction and deprivation, he understands the challenges faced by many families in similar circumstances.
Determined to create change, Aubrey pursued education at Trinity College Dublin (BSc ’93, MA ’23) and founded Tiglin, a charity providing housing, rehabilitation, and access to education and employment for those affected by homelessness and addiction. Aubrey has made a meaningful impact with Tiglin helping over 1100 number people since 2008.
His achievements have been recognised with significant accolades, including the Irish Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year Award (2024) and the Trinity Alumni Award (2023).
A successful entrepreneur, Aubrey leads businesses employing over 40 people, demonstrating his ability to stimulate economic growth while fostering community well-being.
