A gathering of current and former Software Engineering (SwEng) students recently took place in the O'Reilly Foyer to mark International Women's Day. This event brought together a community of female SwEng students, emphasising the importance of support, mentorship, and personal growth.

Professor Inmaculada Arnedillo-Sánchez spoke about the significance of building personal confidence and resilience. She highlighted the value of supporting and mentoring one another, fostering a culture of mutual growth.

The evening included 4th year students currently on their internships sharing their experiences in industry and illustrated how they supported each other within their SwEng teams. Their stories underscored the power of collaboration and the positive impact of a strong female network in the field of computer science.

The event showcased the collective efforts of the SwEng community to support and pave the way for future generations of female software engineers.
