Scheduled for April 9th, from 10 am to 1 pm, at the Tangent workspace in Trinity College Dublin, this event will offer a first-hand look at the software engineering projects crafted by our talented students in conjunction with renowned industry partners.
The showcase will spotlight live demonstrations of these projects, each a testament to the fusion of academic knowledge and real-world application. Developed over a rigorous 12-week period, these initiatives address pressing challenges identified by industry leaders such as Microsoft, IBM, Qualcomm and Munich RE. Employing industry-standard methodologies like DevSecOps and GitOps, students have not only developed technical solutions but have also honed vital soft skills essential for success in today's competitive landscape.
This event serves as a platform for our students to share their experiences, insights, and the journey behind their projects. From the inception of ideas to the final execution, attendees will gain valuable perspectives on the collaborative process between academia and industry.
Furthermore, we extend our sincere appreciation to our industry partners for their steadfast support and mentorship throughout this term. Their guidance has played an instrumental role in shaping the calibre of projects showcased at this event.
To the top 10 finalists, congratulations on your remarkable achievement! While the judges will select recipients for the coveted Industry Award sponsored by Munich RE and the Runner-Up award, sponsored by IBM, every participating team deserves recognition for their dedication and contribution to this showcase of excellence.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the projects, interact with students, and witness the impact of this collaborative effort. With a panel of esteemed judges evaluating presentations and a Public Vote for the Public Award, sponsored by Microsoft, the showcase promises an immersive experience for all.
Stay tuned for the outcomes and insights emerging from this showcase and the future of software engineering at the School of Computer Science and Statistics SwEng Industry Projects Showcase 2024.
