The Prof John G. Byrne Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund that has been created with the generous support of Trinity alumni and friends, and the School wishes to extend sincere thanks to the supporters of this initiative.
In a new development, the School has arranged alumni mentors for the nine Prof Byrne scholars and they will provide the students with advice and guidance during the time at Trinity. The School wishes to thank the mentors for being so generous with their time and for agreeing to support the students in this way.

Throughout his long career, John Byrne was passionate about nurturing talent and supporting students. He strongly supported women in STEM and recognised the benefits of improving gender diversity in Computer Science. These scholarships are a tribute to this passion and his contribution to computer science as a discipline at Trinity and an industry in Ireland.
