Congratulations to Dr. Yihe Weng for successfully defending her PhD thesis yesterday morning. Her groundbreaking research, titled "Longitudinal Brain Connectivity Derived from the Stop-Signal Task as a Predictor of Substance Use," was supervised by the esteemed Prof. Robert Whelan. The thesis was expertly examined by Dr. Juan (Helen) Zhou from the National University of Singapore and Dr. Clare Kelly, with Prof. Rhodri Cusack serving as chair. A remarkable milestone, well-deserved!
Congratulations also to Dr. Gabriel Byczynski for passing his PhD viva this afternoon. His innovative thesis, "The Effect of Peripheral Nerve Stimulation on Implicit Motor Learning," was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Sven Vanneste and examined by a distinguished panel, including Prof. Paul Dockree and Prof. Myles McLaughlin from KU Leuven. The viva was chaired by Prof. Shane O’Mara. An incredible achievement—kudos to you!
We extend our warmest congratulations to both Yihe and Gabriel on their impressive accomplishments and wish them continued success in their academic and professional journeys!
