Colleagues and friends of the School of Engineering gathered this week to mark the launch of the School’s new Research Strategy 2025-2030.

At the event, Linda highlighted the importance of the research strategy, particularly in a research landscape which is increasingly shaped by political, social, and economic pressures. In this context, she explained, the School’s research strategy takes on a greater significance. “It’s brilliant that this strategy is now published and that it ‘stands up for research’ at a time where nothing can be taken for granted.

Linda concluded by congratulating the School on the work that went into their strategy, with a particular commendation for the vibrancy of the research showcased by the School, and the way in which the School tells its research story.

Other speakers at the event included Prof. Michael Monaghan, Director of Research in the School of Engineering; Prof. Sylvia Draper, Dean of the Faculty of STEM; and Prof. Sinéad Ryan, Dean of Research.
