The Global Room hosted Trinity’s first celebration of Nowruz, which marks the beginning of spring. Nowruz means ‘New Day’ and it has been celebrated for over 3,000 years across many regions.
Speakers at the event included Dr Azizi Mohibbi, Scholars at Risk representative; Dr Roja Fazaeli, Lecturer, Near and Middle Eastern Studies; and Soraya Afzali, Research Assistant, Near and Middle Eastern Studies, who all reflected on Nowruz from their personal perspectives and celebrating Nowruz in exile.
