Honorary commencements day is always a great day in Trinity. This time round, the College chose to honour four scientists who have contributed to the global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, to our understanding of genetics, and to educational and research advancement in Trinity. 

The four individuals were: 

  • Dr Beate Schuler, Philanthropist
  • Prof. Uǧur Şahin, BioNTech co-founder
  • Prof. Özlem Türeci, BioNTech co-founder
  • Prof. Joan Steitz, Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry
