593 first-year students were awarded Entrance Exhibition Awards in Trinity this week. The awards, which have been in place since 1985, are given to students who achieve the highest points among Trinity entrants from their secondary school.

This year’s awardees came from every corner of Ireland, as well as a number of students who entered Trinity through the CAO system from 39 other countries.

The awards ceremonies took place across three consecutive evenings in the Dining Hall. Principals from 452 schools across the country were also in attendance to join their students in the celebrations. A Principals Forum on “Post Primary Education with Artificial Intelligence” was also held this year and included input from AI expert and Trinity Senior Lecturer, Prof. Vinny Wade.

At the awards ceremonies, Linda commended the students on their achievements and expressed her delight that they have chosen Trinity for their higher education. She encouraged them to immerse themselves in Trinity life and reminded them of the student supports that are available.

With school principals present, Linda also took the opportunity to acknowledge the vital role played by principals, teachers, and the wider school community in nurturing the talent of these fantastic students.
