The Excellence in Supervision of Research Students awards were held in the Provost’s Saloon. These awards were created in 2022 to ‘acknowledge the important role that supervisors play in the success of their postgraduate students and also aim to reward ‘a culture of excellence in supervision in Trinity’*.

There are two categories of awards, ‘Established’ and ‘Early Career’, and an award for each category is given to Trinity’s three faculties.

The awardees for 2022/23 are:

Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

  • Established: Prof. Lorna Carson
  • Early Career: Dr Edurne Garcia Iriarte

Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

  • Established: Prof, Rachel McLoughlin
  • Early Career: Prof. Cian O’Callaghan and Dr Ivana Dusparic

Faculty of Health Sciences

  • Established: Prof. Valerie Smith
  • Early Career: Dr Sharee Basdeo
