The opening session of The Phil debated “That this house would stage a coup on the Provost”. Linda Doyle spoke in favour of the motion. The Phil is Trinity’s oldest continuous society.
The motion was defeated despite the Provost’s plea that it was badly needed in the interests of equality, and would pave the way to true collaboration by allowing others to realise there are no quick fixes to the problems facing the sector.
