Held in the Fitzgerald Library, the workshop began with Igor Shvets providing an overview of the proposal’s goals and challenges. The session then explored the fascinating world of memristors, highlighting their production and significance. Discussions also covered advanced imaging of defects in oxides through high-resolution microscopies and the applications of PIN diodes in microwave circuits. A forward-looking presentation on ultrahigh-frequency switches explored the potential of memristors in achieving frequencies beyond 50 GHz. Attendees engaged in open discussions to construct a compelling narrative for the proposal's PowerPoint presentation. The Trinity College Research Office introduced the support and resources available for the proposal team. The workshop concluded with a tour of TCD's state-of-the-art research facilities, showcasing the vibrant research environment at APRG. This collaborative event not only highlighted the interdisciplinary expertise of the MEMITEK team but also laid a strong foundation for the ERC Synergy Proposal, promising advancements in memristor and microwave technology.
