Emergency Procedure

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE EVENT OF AN INCIDENT WITH A LASER AND WHERE INJURY MAY HAVE OCCURED

You must report all accidents to the College Laser Safety Officer and your own local Safety Officer

1. Report to the specialist A&E for eye injuries immediately

2. Do not drive yourself; get a friend or colleague to take you.
3. Out of hours or if an ambulance is required:
   Contact local Security at 1999 they will direct an ambulance to you if it is requiredState Building and School or Department Location and nature of incident / accident Request assistance to take the casualty to the A&E, Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, Adelaide Road, Dublin .
4. To better help the hospital treat you fill in the MECHANISM_OF_INJURY form on the next page if possible or have your colleague do it for you. You can also use it to report details to the College Laser Safety Officer and the General Laser Safety Officer in your area.
