Congratulations to Thomas Long, class of 2022 TCD Physics graduate, who was awarded the 2022 IOP Ireland Earnshaw Award for his undergraduate achievements in his final year project (best on the island of Ireland) titled:
Type III Solar Radio Bursts and Associated X-ray Emission
undertaken with Prof. Peter Gallagher at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS).
Thomas is now a PhD student in Particle Physics at the University of Cambridge, where he is working on the LHCb experiment at CERN studying rare decays of B mesons under the supervision of Dr. Paula Alvarez Cartelle.
