History of Philosophy
History of philosophy is an integral part of philosophy. By understanding great thinkers in their context we bring a greater sensitivity and depth to our contemporary theorizing.
Our department has special competences in Plato, Aristotle, Aquinas, Berkeley, Hume, Kant, Husserl, Heidegger, Frege, Russell, Wittgenstein and Quine. We engage with these historical figures with an eye to their contemporary relevance.
