Michael is joining us from King's College London and the University of London, Birkbeck, where he was as an Affiliate Researcher and Associate Lecturer in Philosophy, respectively.

His research interests are primarily in the philosophy of perception, mind, and epistemology, but extend to issues in language, mathematics and metaethics. His current research project concerns the varieties of knowledge, focusing on the nature of mathematical and ethical knowledge, as well as the diversity of psychological states that constitute knowledge.

Michael has taught a number of subjects at the postgraduate and undergraduate level, and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
