The School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, is excited to announce the launch of its newly revamped postgraduate programme in Midwifery Practice and Leadership, beginning in September 2025. Applications are now open for registered midwives who wish to enhance their knowledge and advance their careers.

With a strong reputation for academic excellence and innovation in healthcare education, Trinity’s School of Nursing & Midwifery has redesigned its Midwifery Practice and Leadership programme to better meet the evolving needs of today’s professionals. Alongside the traditional one-year full-time and two-year part-time Master’s options, a new, flexible framework programme has been introduced, allowing students to complete their qualification over a period of three to five years.

A Pathway That Fits Your Life

The new framework programme is designed with flexibility at its core, making it easier than ever for midwives to pursue advanced qualifications while managing work and personal commitments. Whether you're looking to earn a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, or a full Master’s (M.Sc.), this pathway lets you study at your own pace. Students can exit the programme at any stage with a recognised Level 9 qualification, giving you the freedom to tailor your education to your career goals and lifestyle.

Innovative Modules

What sets Trinity’s programme apart are the dynamic, forward-thinking modules now on offer. Students will explore critical and timely topics including:

  • Leadership and Women-Centred Maternity Care
  • Perinatal Mental Health and Childbirth Related Trauma
  • Digital Health – Understanding the Application of Technology in Modern Healthcare
