International Survey - A survey was distributed to all academic staff to ascertain our global research and education collaborations. 

International Summer School Development - Plans are afoot to develop an International Public Health Summer School and a bespoke International PhD Summer School Programme.

Delegation Visit - The Director of Global Engagement, Asst. Prof Jacqueline Whelan was invited to visit the University of Qatar, Doha, with a College delegation (including the School of Medicine and School of Physiotherapy) to establish new connections.

Erasmus (Outgoing) - Eleven students were excited to travel to Malta (6), Turku Finland (3), and Lund, Sweden (2) to start their Erasmus Experiences.

Erasmus (Incoming) - We were delighted to welcome six students from Malta, two students from Lund, one student from Denmark, and two students from the Netherlands.

International Students - The Director of Global Engagement set up monthly lunch meetings to support our International Student Community in conjunction with staff members.

October 2024

International Scholarships - A significant number of students applied for our International Scholarships to attend Hong Kong University and Duke University (USA) Summer Schools in 2025. Congratulations to Thiago Silva and Promise Okafor (JS General Nursing Students) for securing Duke University scholarships and to Erika Geke (JS Integrated Children's & General Nursing and Lilian McGarry (SF Mental Health Nursing) for obtaining Hong Kong University scholarships.

New Academic Lead International Winter and Summer Schools - Congratulations to Patricia Kavanagh, Academic Teaching Fellow, for securing this post. We wish you every success in your role.  

Outgoing Global Officer - October 2024 - We wished Grainne Curistan, Global Officer, every possible success on her Career Break!

Delegation Visits - We were delighted to welcome, connect, and collaborate with academics from the University of Maribor, Slovenia, and the University of Barcelona. Much gratitude to our clinical partners and students for their time and for facilitating site visits.

International Students - University of Sydney - Two students arrived from the University in early November, to attend clinical placements in Tallaght University Hospital. They are loving every minute of their experience.  

International Student Scholarships SONM TCD 2025 - Two Trinity SF General Nursing Students (Moya Flynn and Ruth Little) have secured scholarships to attend Royal North Shore Hospital from January 2025. We are simply thrilled for them.  

International Scholarships Sydney and Queensland 2026 - We received a large number of International student scholarship applications to attend the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland. We are looking forward to announcing four scholarship recipients. Watch this space!

New Global Officer - Delighted to welcome Dr Solange Daini, who will be a wonderful asset to our team. 

Winter International School Programme January 2025 - Our academic lead, Patricia Kavanagh (Academic Teaching Fellow) is busy finalising the Winter programme. Thank you to all staff for participating in the programme.
