Trinity to hold Seanad hustings

Ahead of the upcoming Seanad election, a hustings will take place in the Trinity Business School from 5pm on 14 January.
Trinity alumni who are registered to vote in the University of Dublin constituency are invited to meet the sixteen candidates running for election to three Seanad seats. The list of candidates and their biographies are available on this page.
Candidates will take part in two eight-person debates, hosted by broadcaster Áine Kerr, starting from 6pm. During the debates, candidates will discuss some of the most pressing issues facing Ireland today and respond to audience questions. Voters will have time to meet with candidates directly and may attend in person or online. More information, including how to register, is available on Eventbrite.
This is the last time Trinity graduates will elect senators to the University of Dublin constituency. From 2026, Irish citizens who have graduated from Trinity College Dublin, the National University of Ireland colleges, or fifteen further higher education institutions will elect six senators in the new Higher Education constituency.
Past Trinity senators have included Mary Robinson and David Norris.
