Vedo a Colori - Greetings from the Harbour | A Street Art Photo show
The show will be held at the Irish Architectural Archive, and will showcase the urban regeneration project Giulio Vesprini led as the Artistic Director of Vedo a Colori in the city of Civitanova Marche (Italy). Over the past decade, this initiative has revitalised the harbour through street art. The exhibition will feature 120 photographs and an architectural model of the city’s harbour. It will showcase the artistic creations of Italian street artists, thoughtfully captured by five distinguished photographers from 2014 to 2022 - Massimo Perugini, Silvia Diomedi, Monica Capretti, Federica Borroni, and Simone Fabbri. “With ‘Vedo a Colori’ the harbour becomes an authentic Museum of Urban Art and is fenced with colour, becomes a space usable by all and changes the city's postcard starting from its heart” Giulio Vesprini explains. The opening event on November 6th will be enriched by the screening of the documentary film 'A Documentary at the Port' at the Italian Institute of Culture followed by the vernissage of the photo exhibition at the neighbouring premises of the Irish Architectural Archive. The Italian Institute's commitment to the promotion of Italian street art dates back to 2022, when it commenced its support for Italian artists participating in the Waterford Walls International Street Art Festival, featuring acclaimed talents such as Iena Cruz last year, and Chekos this year. “This exhibition aims to promote the extraordinary effect that Vedo a Colori has had on the local community of Civitanova Marche - being a tangible example of how Street Art can be a useful tool to activate positive transformative changes. Furthermore, this exhibition is also aimed at building cultural exchanges between Irish and Italian Street Artists - availing of the external expertise of Cristina Ciampaglione, a cultural professional that has worked on Street Art initiatives in Ireland and Italy over the last 9 years” the Director Marco Gioacchini commented. The exhibition will be open for public viewing at the Irish Architectural Archive every Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm, with complimentary admission for all art enthusiasts.
