The history of species recording and habitat mapping in Ireland
The Green Campus's Biodiversity Committee is hosting a workshop on Wednesday 15th November, 5-6pm in the Botany Library, Botany department, with Dr Declan Doogue, Hon. Vice President of the Dublin Naturalists' Field Club.
In this interactive workshop, Declan will describe the history of species recording and habitat mapping in Ireland and showcase some of the leading naturalists behind this work, through a selection of historical field guides, maps, floras, engravings and other artefacts. The relevance of this legacy to contemporary biodiversity data and knowledge will be discussed.
