The flora of Dublin City Centre
In 1979, the Dublin Naturalists' Field Club embarked on a survey of the Flora of Dublin’s Inner city, which was published by the RDS in 1984 (Flora of Inner Dublin by Peter Wyse Jackson and Micheline Sheehy Skeffington). DNFC are now considering the possibility of re-surveying the flora and habitats of the city. This event is particularly suitable for those wishing to learn some of the more accessible species which occur naturally close to the city centre. New student members and others are very welcome to attend. Please wear clothing/footwear suitable for the outdoors and bring along a notebook, camera and hand lens if you have them. Meet : 11.00 a.m. at the gate of the Natural History Museum (National Museum of Ireland), Merrion Street, Dublin 2. To book a place on this event please email your full name, and name of course and course year (if applicable) to sumaldea@tcd.ie.
