Principles of Sustainable Healthcare
Aim(s): (i) To raise awareness of relationships between climate change & health (ii) To introduce the principles of sustainable healthcare and how they can be applied to clinical practice (iii) To introduce the SusQI (sustainable quality improvement) framework and how it can be utilised to measure social, environmental and financial impact of quality improvement changes Nuala Hampson Biography: Nuala Hampson is a pharmacist with a background in education, general practice and, more recently, sustainable healthcare. Her current role includes developing and delivering education programmes for sustainable healthcare Short courses in sustainability, health and healthcare | Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and leadership workshops for net zero Net Zero Leadership Training for Boards | Centre for Sustainable Healthcare. She also develops strategies for sustainable pharmacy initiatives, networking and assimilation of sustainable pharmacy case studies and has recently launched the Sustainable Pharmacy Network. Nuala has worked as a clinical pharmacist in general practice for over 20 years and in postgraduate pharmacy education for 15 years. She developed and launched the CPPE Environmental Sustainability learning gateway. This is the first in a two-webinar series hosted by Dr Cicely Roche, School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin. The second webinar in this series, ‘Greening the curriculum’: Embedding sustainable healthcare in the curriculum for all healthcare professionals will be held on Wednesday 17th April at 12pm (use same registration link as above)
