A More-Than-Human Novel: Paolo Di Paolo in Conversation
The Italian writer Paolo Di Paolo will join Italian writer and scholar Enrica Ferrara (TCD) at the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin for a conversation about his latest novel, Romanzo senza umani (Feltrinelli, 2023). The event will be held on the 28th February, 6.30pm at the Italian Institute, 11 Fitzwilliam square, Dublin 2. In the age of AI, which threatens to replace writers with machines - a time in which humans seem to have lost centrality vis-a-vis the non-human landscape and the increasingly urgent questions posed by the environmental emergency - Paolo Di Paolo with Romanzo senza umani has written a novel that reinstate the humans in a central place but in dialogue with the environmental and technological "other." Romanzo senza umani has been reviewed and received praise by distinguished writers and academics such as Serenella Iovino, Gaia Manzini, Titti Marrone, Lisa Ginzburg, Alessandro Vanoli, to name but a few. The event at the Italian Cultural Institute will be in Italian with English translation and will be followed by a drinks reception.
