Trinity’s annual Irish language festival celebrates online from March 1-5

Éigse na Tríonóide, Trinity College Dublin’s annual Irish language festival, and Seachtain na Gaeilge, will take place online from 1-5th March 2021.
These will celebrate our Irish language and culture by holding a wide range of events over the course of the week. We extend a warm welcome to all to join us online for this celebration. The main events will include special guest speakers at the Éigse launch; an informative talk on the history of the Irish language in Trinity from two graduates of the university; a night of music, singing and poetry with Cúirt Éigse; a Gàidhlig singing workshop, and a dramatical and musical performance of Casadh an tSúgáin.
The guest speakers who will be present at the festival launch on Monday 1st March at 7.00pm are as follows:
Megan O’Connor: Founder of ‘Múinteoir Meg’ on social media and graduate of Trinity
An Dr Eoin Mac Cárthaigh: Head of Department, Department of Irish and Celtic Studies in Trinity
Kitty Ní Houlihán: Drag queen and LGBTQ+ rights activist.
