Teacht le chéile Acadamh na Lianna i gColáiste na Tríonóide/ Gathering of Irish-speaking medical in Trinity College

Bhí Cruinniú an Fhómhair, 2011, de chuid Acadamh na Lianna i gColáiste na Tríonóide ar an Satharn 17 Meán Fómhair 2011. Is é atá san Acadamh ná eagras de ghrúpa dochtúirí le Gaeilge, a thagann le chéile le ceisteanna maidir le cúrsaí leighis i gcoitinne a phlé trí mheán na teanga. Bunaíocht an eagraíocht i 1968.
Ag an chomhdháil i TCD, bhí na cainteoirí seo a leanas:
An tOllamh Risteard Ó Laoide, Comhairleoir Raideolaíochta, Ospidéal Naomh Uinsean,BAC 4, a labhair faoi ‘An Raideolaíocht sa chóras sláinte’; An Dr Niall Ó Cléirigh, Dochtúir Teaghlaigh, Sráid an Phiarsaigh, BÁC 2, a thug aitheasc faoin teideal ‘Ag teagasc mic léinn leighis i gcleachtadh ginearálta i 2011; An Dr Antóin Ó Conchúir, Speisialtóir-Chláraitheoir i nGaistreintreolaíocht , Ospidéal San Séamas, a labhair faoi ‘Cúrsaí traenála agus ganntanas na ndochtúirí sóisearacha 2011’; Aonghus Dwane, Oifigeach Gaeilge,TCD, a labhair ar ‘Ról Oifig na Gaeilge, TCD’ agus An Dr Colm Ó Sé, Dochtúir Teaghlaigh, Baile Fhiormaid, a labhair faoi ‘Stair Scoil Leighis TCD’.
Bhí píosa cainte freisin ó mhac léinn le leigheas, agus tugadh siúlóid thart ar an gcampas stairiúil. Bhí píosa amhránaíochta sean-nóis le cloisteáil freisin ag an ócáid seo, ina meascadh eolas faoi cheird an leighis, caidreamh sóisialta agus léargas ar chultúr agus stair. Bhí an comhdháil á reáchtáil mar chuid d’fhéile 300 bliana Scoil Leighis TCD.
Gathering of Irish-speaking medical practitioners at Trinity College
The Autumn Meeting of Acadamh na Lianna was held in Trinity College Dublin on Saturday 17 September 2011.
The Acadamh is a group of Irish-speaking medical practitioners who meet to discuss matters concerning medical matters in general through the medium of the language. It was founded in 1968
At the TCD gathering, talks were given by the following in the Irish language:
Professor Risteard Ó Laoide, Consultant Radiologist, St Vincent’s Hospital, who spoke on ‘Radiology in the health service’; Dr Niall Ó Cléirigh, Family Doctor, Pearse Street, who gave a talk entitled ‘Instructing medical students in general practice 2011′; Dr Antóin Ó Conchúir, Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology , St James’ Hospital, who spoke on ‘Training and the shortage of junior doctors 2011’; Aonghus Dwane, Irish Language Officer, TCD, who spoke on ‘The Role of the Irish Language Officer in Trinity College’ and Dr Colm Ó Sé, Family Doctor, Ballyfermot, who spoke on ‘The history of the School of Medicine, TCD’.
There were also talks from a medical student, and a tour of the historic campus at TCD. There was also a demonstration of sean-nós singing at the occasion, which combined information on the profession of medicine, a social dimension and a sampling of Irish language culture and history.
