TCD Staff Achieve FETAC Awards
Posted on: 02 April 2007
On the 30th of March 2007 the Director of Buildings, Mr Paul Mangan, presented 39 of the college’s security and attendant staff members with FETAC Awards. The certificates were achieved for successfully completing a Security Course conducted by the Security Institute of Ireland.
In order to attain the Further Education and Training Awards Council Certificates the individuals had to complete a course and pass the obligatory tests which consisted of a written examination, a skills demonstration in front of camera and a series of practical tests based on the individual staff members actual workplace on campus.
The successful completion of the course meets the licensing standard set down by the Private Security Authority (PSA) which is the statutory authority employed by Government with regulating the private security industry.
Also present at the ceremony was Daryell Moules, son of security guard Gerry Mouyles, who sadly passed away late last year. Daryell accepted the certificate on behalf of his father.
