TCD Chapel launches ‘Picture Sermon Series’
Posted on: 03 April 2006
TCD Chapel has announced its forthcoming series of ‘Picture Sermons’. Each Sunday morning at 10.45am this term an invited preacher will discuss the story of a European masterwork within the broader liturgical context of the Christian Eucharist. This exercise in ‘intratextual ekphrasis’ is among the first of its kind to be attempted in Ireland.
“We are very much looking forward to this exciting and vibrant process which marks a further stage in the Chaplaincy’s desire to find new ways of connecting with diverse and discrete audiences in the University,” commented the College Chaplain, Dr Alan McCormack.
All are welcome to attend these services and postcards of each European masterwork will be supplied.
