Apassionata Florists Photoshoot, Museum Building, 7th June 2019
June 2019
The hall of the Museum Building looked amazing last Friday with flowers arranged for the photoshoot. The photographs will be used in a book by Apassionata entitled ‘Bláthanna - Flowers in Irish Spaces’. The premise of the book is that Appasionata are creating floral stories to show how Irish spaces can be dressed and accessorised with imaginative floristry. Each chapter will also have descriptive information about each location used. The reason the Museum building was used is that it is not just wonderful but also that the Irish ecological, geographical and nature element could be explored through floral work in such a historical premises. Apassionata Florists have promised a copy.
This ties nicely with aspects of recent research on the Museum Building by the Making Victorian Project (Louise Caulfield, Andrew Tierney, Christine Casey and Patrick Wyse Jackson) in particular to the studies of the naturalistic carvings.
