The week of the 6th January marked an exciting new chapter for Trinity’s School of Natural Sciences as we internally launched our “School of Natural Sciences Research Strategy 2025-2030" on Wednesday 8th January. This 5-year plan marks a momentous development in the history of the school’s research as the first-time publication of the School’s Strategic Research Plan.
This Strategy was launched by the School’s Research Director Yvonne Buckley with opening remarks from Trinity’s Dean of Research Prof Sinéad Ryan and closing remarks by our Head of School Prof Ian Donohue, both of whom are very positive about the Strategy’s content and how it will contribute to Trinity’s University level Strategic Plan.
The strategy overview which outlined the School’s Research priorities for the next 5-year displays the school’s strong focus on research excellence, cutting-edge advancements, impact, influence and international relevance.
This overview was followed by special presentations from some of the school’s key research contributors who discussed their current research projects:
Prof Marcus Collier, Dr Pete Akers, Dr Nessa O’Connor, Prof Iris Moeller, Dr Quentin Crowley, Dr Philip Lawton, Dr John Connolly and Prof Paula Murphy.
The Strategy document will be available to the public later this year after its official launch and we look forward to all the developments and opportunities that will follow.
