NatPro and Trinity Centre for the Environment Announce Interdisciplinary Collaboration

NatPro, Trinity Centre for Natural Products Research, together with The Trinity Centre for the Environment, are pleased to announce a pioneering interdisciplinary collaboration. This innovative Centre to Centre partnership provides a systems perspective, not only on environmental protection and monitoring, but also on the opportunities for communities and enterprise to protect and benefit from the natural environment and to gain awareness of natural product science to deliver bio-based solutions.

The collaboration brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, including researchers, industry experts, policymakers and community leader. The goal is to foster and support activities that not only benefit society, but also contribute positively to environmental sustainability.

This collaboration represents an important stride in Trinity College Dublin's ongoing efforts to lead and innovate in environmental research and natural product science.


About the About Trinity Centre for the Environment (TCE)

Originally established in 1979 as the Environmental Sciences Unit, the Trinity Centre for the Environment (TCE) continues to encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary research and teaching in all aspects of the environment.

The TCE, acts as a hub for academics, postdocs and postgraduates who work in the area of environmental science, or who wish to visit Trinity College Dublin to carry out research in a related area. The TCE comprises a wide collection of academic and research staff, as well as visiting and affiliate members. It has extensive laboratories as well as space for visiting researchers.

The TCE is primarily a research centre although it also has strong links to teaching and in the promotion of contemporary environmental challenges to the general public.

As a research centre, the TCE also acts as a hub for visiting researchers and academics who collaborate in the areas of environmental science, environmental technology and environmental engineering. Our aim is to promote and facilitate interdisciplinary research and teaching in these areas.

The director of Trinity Centre for the Environment (TCE), is also a partner lead for the IKC3, Ireland’s Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action which has also partnered with Natpro on numerous innatives.
