GA Congress 2023 Wrap up

Celebrating Unity and Global Progress

The 71st International Congress and Annual Meeting of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) (GA Congress) successfully concluded its four-day event from July 2nd to July 5th, 2023, in the vibrant city of Dublin. This extraordinary gathering brought together scientific leaders in the area of Natural Products, including experts, and enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds, with a special focus on the theme of ‘Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy for a Sustainable Future'.

Hosted by NatPro, the Trinity Centre for Natural Product Research, the GA Congress was a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaborative discussions, driving the pursuit of scientific excellence, global progress and sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by societies worldwide.

The GA Congress witnessed an impressive turnout of circa 600 attendees, with delegates from 54 countries including America, Canada, Africa, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and across Europe. Participants were treated to an extensive program comprising keynote presentations, panel discussions, short-lectures and poster sessions, all centered on crucial topics such as scientific and technological advances, emerging and re-emerging fields of importance, healthcare innovations, environmental conservation, social equity, and economic development.

NatPro was privileged to be invited by GA to host GA2023 at TCD in Dublin, Ireland. The event has been an exciting boost of engaging themes and inspiring talks from experts in the field and emerging talents from across the globe. Further, it has been an opportunity for expanding networks and collaborations across academia and industry. It has also been an occasion to share awareness on sustainable approaches in working with natural products, promoting them as natural base solutions to address global challenges around health and climate issues.

Keynotes

Keynotes: Esteemed speakers from various fields captivated the audience with their visionary insights and thought-provoking discussions. They shed light on the pressing issues of our time and offered novel perspectives to inspire action and change.

Poster Presentions

Poster Presentations: The poster presentations served as a conduit for meaningful interactions and knowledge exchange among participants.

Throughout the Congress, the poster area buzzed with energy and enthusiasm as presenters eagerly shared their findings, methodologies, and visions for a brighter future. The diversity of perspectives and the depth of research demonstrated during these sessions underscored the commitment of the global community to address the world's most pressing challenges collaboratively.

Panel Discussions

The GA 2023 hosted two panel discssuions,one on Regulatory Pathways, named "Regulatory Pathways - Challenges and Opportunities in the Development of Natural Products", and the second on sustainability and bioeconomy, titled "Sustainable Approaches in Natural Products Towards Building a Bioeconomy".

Social Events

Beyond the scientific program, the social events allowed attendees to experience the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of Ireland. From the welcome reception to the gala dinner, every moment was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and memorable interactions.
