- Another frequent ERASMUS host had been the Universite Joseph Fourier, Grenoble and the group of Eric Beaugnon. However, difficulties have arisen here and the exchange agreement has lapsed.
- UPC. Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech has hosted a student in the polymer materials and textile chemistry group of Manuel José Lis Arias, and a student in the textile and paper department studying polymer foams under the supervision of Monica Ardunay.
- A student has worked at in the University of Potsdam, Germany, in the Applied condensed matter physics group of Prof. Reimund Gerhard investigating dielectric nanowire/elastomer composites for applications.
- A student has worked at Universite d'Auvergne - IUT de Clermont-Ferrand,
- A new host for 2012 was Liverpool University and the Surface Science Research Centre where a student under the direction of Ronan McGrath examined C60 on the surfaces of quasicrystals. This was a one-off student placement and the student received funding under the ERASMUS Work-Placement scheme. - Also via ERASMUS at Greoble Institute of Technology and the cellulose and nanocomposites group of Alain Dufresne, as recently as 2012.
