About our Research
Research in the Microbial Interactions and Pathogenesis focusses on developing comprehensive understanding of how microbes interact with one another, and with their hosts. We are particularly interested in clinically relevant human pathogens including uropathogenic, enterohaemorrhagic, and adherent-invasive E. coli. By more completely understanding how these microbes respond to the changing environments within the human host, we aim to develop innovative ways to treat infections.
My group uses a diversity of approaches comprising high throughput sequencing, genetics, biochemical techniques, and innovative infection models to explore the basic molecular biology of bacterial pathogens. We also aim to build multi-disciplinary collaborations across the sciences, and with clinicians and industry.
