Overview
We are a multidisciplinary team comprising Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Medical Physicists, Nutritionists, Nurses, Engineers, Scientists and Allied Health Professionals. Our principal investigators (PIs) collaborate with national and international colleagues across Europe, North America, Canada and Ireland as well as with small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and Industry partners. Mission Statement
- To develop an academic research centre, availing of Trinity Health Ireland’s recent approval to provide the ideal clinical platform to support a world class gastroenterology research programme.
- To create an environment where clinical excellence is supported and maintained by ongoing bi-directional academic achievement through a research-led care model.
- TAGG’s research themes align with the key Trinity College Dublin research thematic areas of next-generation medical devices, immunology and infection, cancer and ageing. TAGG will address key questions in these thematic areas by employing its combined strengths in world-class research, clinical expertise, multidisciplinary membership and our links and partnerships. These links include the Institute of Molecular Medicine and the Trinity Translational Medicine Centre as well as National and International partners.
