Dr Laura Gleeson, Discipline of Clinical Medicine
Dr Laura Gleeson is exploring the role of safe, FDA-approved metabolic manipulators on the immunometabolic innate immune response to infection and the impact of macrophage ontogeny on metabolic and functional outcomes in infection, with a view to developing new treatments for TB and other respiratory pathogens.
Dr Maria O'Sullivan, Discipline of Clinical Medicine
Dr Maria O'Sullivan is an Associate Professor in Nutrition and a Principal Investigator at Trinity College Dublin with 25+ years' experience in nutrition. Her research primarily focuses on nutrition, particularly across vitamin D inflammation, ageing, malnutrition, digestive diseases, and in running nutrition interventions and clinical trials (RCTs).
Dr Martin Barr, Translational Lung Cancer Research
Translational Lung Cancer Research: bridging the gap between science and patient-centred care. Dr Martin Barr is a Principal Investigator and Clinical Senior lecturer in the Thoracic Oncology Research Group in the School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin.
Dr Dania Movia, Discipline of Radiation Therapy
Supporting the reduction and replacement of animal testing in lung cancer research. Dr Dania Movia is an Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Radiation Therapy. She is also a Principal Investigator of the Laboratory for Biological Characterization of Advanced Materials, which is located at the Trinity Translational Medicine Institute and is associated with the Trinity St James's Cancer Institute.
Dr Geraldine Foley, Discipline of Occupational Therapy
Research in the field of life limiting illness focused primarily on stakeholder decision-making and preferences for care in domains of palliative care, neuro-palliative care, neuro-rehabilitative care and end of life care.
