Decision Process for School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee

  • The School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee will review applications in the order in which they are submitted in REAMS. It will review a maximum of 10 applications in each meeting.
  • Each applicant / supervisor will receive an automated email stating the decision as per the School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee once their application has been reviewed at the meeting.
  • Each applicant will be provided with sufficient time to submit any amendments to their application, but this time will not exceed a period of one calendar month. Amendments are submitted via REAMS. Please see detail of this under the Amendments to Approved Studies tab on the following page.

Failure of an applicant to adhere to the re-submission timeframe of 30 days may incur a penalty whereby the application may expire and may need to be re-submitted.
