All Ireland Bar Workers Study

Baseline data on the respiratory health of bar workers both in the Republic of Ireland and in the North of Ireland (control group) were collected prior to the introduction of the smoke-free workplace legislation in March 2004. Data were collected again a year after the introduction of the ban in the Republic of Ireland and comparisons made between the two groups to measure the effects of the reduction of second hand smoke on the cohort of bar workers in the Republic.
